About Control4 — The World's Leading Smart Home Platform

Founded in Utah in 2003, trusted in 500,000+ homes across 100+ countries, and backed today by NYSE-listed ADI Global Distribution.

What Is Control4, and Who Owns It?

Control4 is an American technology brand founded in 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and today one of the world's most widely deployed professional smart home platforms. It unifies lighting, climate, security, audio, and home cinema on a single system — and it is installed exclusively through authorized integrators, never sold as a box on a shelf.

The brand is developed today under ADI Global Distribution, a publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: ADIG), as the flagship of the Snap One product family. Its official distributor for Turkey has been aSAY VAD since 2005.

Control4 smart home automation platform

The Story: From Salt Lake City to 100 Countries

Control4 was founded by Eric Smith, Will West, and Mark Morgan with a clear ambition: to take home automation — until then the preserve of ultra-luxury estates — and deliver it through standardized, dependable products. The brand made its debut at CEDIA Expo 2004 and quickly became one of the companies that rewrote the rules of the industry.

In the two decades since, Control4 has grown from an independent startup into a publicly traded technology company, and then into the flagship automation brand of one of the world's largest smart-living groups. Every stage of that journey is traceable through public records.

Publicly Traded, Independently Audited

A smart home system is installed to serve for decades — which makes the stability of the company behind it as important as the product itself. Control4 stands apart here: since 2013, it has spent most of its corporate life under publicly traded parent structures — financials open to the public, independently audited, and reported to the New York Stock Exchange.

In the premium smart home segment, most brands are privately held family companies. A publicly listed parent sets Control4 apart on transparency and corporate continuity. Today that parent is ADI Global Distribution, trading on the NYSE under the ticker ADIG.
